Debate

Today we split into 3 groups. Social Media, Voting and Superstores.

My group was superstores and we were against them. The idea of our group was to talk about the quality of the products, the shopping experience themselves, and putting money into the economy.

A lot of good points were made and it didn't matter which side you were on, it mattered more how persuasive your argument was. Hand gestures seemed to really help as well as speaking with confidence and a loud, clear, authoritative voice. People used ethos, logos and pathos to grab people's attention and get them to listen to what they were saying. Rehearsing also helped because people who stammered or paused lost a lot of attention and respect from the audience almost immediately.

It was great to see how fired up and involved people could get in the arguments. Which makes me realise that I need a strong, clear point of argument before I can transfer it visually.
